How do I setup SMTP Authentication for use with my Slamdot hosting account?
Posted by Daniel on April 22, 2006When setting up POP3 accounts in your email software, you will need to enable SMTP authentication if you choose to use your hosting account for sending mail (instead of using your ISP's outgoing mail server).
The SMTP authorization login name / password is the same as your POP3 email account login name / password.
In MS Outlook: Go to Tools, then Accounts, select the account and click Properties. Then, under the Servers tab, check "My server requires authentication."
For other email software, please use the help feature for further instructions on authenticating SMTP for use with your Slamdot hosting account.
