How do I setup Windows Live Mail 2011 with my Slamdot email account using POP?

The steps below are for setting up your Slamdot email account inside Microsoft Windows Live Mail 2011 using POP.

  1. In Windows Live Mail, click the Accounts tab.
  2. Then click the Email icon.
  3. In the Email Address field, enter your full email address.
  4. In the Password field, enter your password.
  5. Select the checkbox option to Remember this password.
  6. In the Display Name field, enter how you'd like your name to display when sending email (typically your first and last name).
  7. Select the checkbox option to Manually configure server settings.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Select POP as the Server type.
  10. In the Incoming Server address field, enter mail.yourdomain.com.
  11. In the Incoming server Port field, enter 110.
  12. Do NOT select the checkbox to require a secure connection (SSL). This needs to be disabled.
  13. For the Authenticate using drop-down field, make sure Clear text is selected.
  14. In the Logon user name field, enter your full email address.
  15. In the Outgoing Server address field, enter mail.yourdomain.com.
  16. In the Outgoing server Port field, enter 25 or 587.
  17. Do NOT select the checkbox to require a secure connection (SSL). This needs to be disabled.
  18. Select the Requires authentication checkbox option to enable authentication.
  19. Click Next.
