    What is a URL?

    A URL, which stands for Uniform Resource Locator, is something requested on a web server and represents an object somewhere on that server, that is accessable to the remote user, or results in an error (i.e. 404 - Not found). They can be of any type (HTML, Audio, Graphics, etc.).
