How do I create custom error pages?

Posted by Daniel on April 19, 2006

Error pages allow you to control what visitors see when they encounter these types of errors:

401 Unauthorized (the visitor does not have permission to view the file/directory)
403 Forbidden (access to the file/directory is not possible)
404 The file or directory is not found
500 An error occurred on the server

By default, there are no error pages. To view the error pages and modify them, click a plan to manage from your Dashboard and click the website tab. Click the error pages link, then click a specific error page to view it or click edit to modify it with html. You can also create the files yourself in any HTML editor and upload them to your public_html directory. However, the files must have the .shtml extension.

To delete an error page, click the Delete icon.
